Where the redwoods meet the coast, the air carries the scent of the forest and the briny promise of the Pacific. Set across nearly 40 acres above Cazadero, four miles as the crow flies from the Sonoma Coast, this retreat offers two homes and the freedom to settle into one while bringing the other to life on your terms. The Creek House (~2,996 sq ft, 3 BR, 3 BA) sits along a seasonal creek. Fire-hardened, fully permitted and framed, it awaits your finishes, with picture windows, skylights, and potential for a fourth bedroom. The 1,152 sq ft A-frame (1 BR plus loft, 1.5 BA, built 2000, updated 2020) welcomes guests or family. Four milled-redwood barns, fenced pastures, and predator-proof pens accommodate small livestock. Self-sufficient by design, the property features 16.32 kW solar, three Tesla Powerwalls, 400-amp service, spring-fed gravity water with 20,000 gallons of storage, and a 5-BR septic. With Starlink, a day of video calls can end with a swim beneath your waterfall or local Pinot on the deck. A year-round river and natural swimming hole, mature redwoods, oaks, firs and pines, open meadows, and apple, pear, and plum trees define the landscape. Pacific breezes and deep shade temper summer days. Two to three hours from San Francisco or the South Bay, it's a weekend escape or a place to stay for good. Neighbors remain tucked beyond the trees, yet camaraderie connects the ~60 properties in this private community. Here, quiet hardiness meets deep appreciation for this special place, where nights reveal a blanket of stars beneath an unlit sky.
